The Grand Blanc Bobcats will head out on the road to face off against the Lapeer Lightning at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Grand Blanc is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
Grand Blanc saw some tournament action on Saturday. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over Lakeland.
Savannah Schultz was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Alaina Trotter was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and one RBI. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kate Mitchell, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.
Grand Blanc was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lakeland only posted a batting average of .143.
Meanwhile, Lapeer got the win against Swartz Creek on Saturday by a conclusive 14-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lightning.
Gabby Speagle spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on nine hits.
On the hitting side, Lapeer got a massive performance out of Hailey Mozola, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one double. That double marked the first that Mozola has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mattie Tracy, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and four RBI.
Grand Blanc's record now sits at 18-3. As for Lapeer, their record is now 4-8.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Grand Blanc has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .464. However, it's not like Lapeer struggles in that department as they've averaged .435. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Grand Blanc took their win against Lapeer in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bobcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
