Palmetto Ridge has gone a perfect 10-0 against Lely recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Bears are taking a road trip to challenge the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. Palmetto Ridge has given up an average of 7.3 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Palmetto Ridge is headed into Monday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight games on Friday. They lost 19-9 to Immokalee. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 24, 2022, but that streak is no more.
Jenahya Soto made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Teagan Delashmet also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Lely ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Naples 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Trojans have posted since March 27, 2025.
Sophia Moriarty made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over nine innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Brooke Bledsoe was incredible, going 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Lianayah Llorca, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Lely is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Palmetto Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
Palmetto Ridge got the 'W' when the teams last played back in March of 2025 against Lely by a conclusive 16-4 score. Will the Bears repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
