The Mohave Thunderbirds will head out on the road to take on the Prescott Badgers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Mohave has struggled recently with seven defeats in a row, while Prescott will arrive with five straight wins.
Last Thursday, Mohave came up short against Lee Williams and fell 49-41.
Prescott proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by 69) but on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Mingus 54-51. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Prescott has posted yet this season.
Prescott relied on the efforts of Bella Abt, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 16 rebounds, and Addie Prisciandaro, who scored 27 points along with five assists. Abt is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ruby Jensen, who scored two points along with ten rebounds and three steals.
Mohave's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 7-12. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.3 points per game. As for Prescott, their win bumped their record up to 10-7.
Mohave took a serious blow against Prescott in their previous meeting on January 2nd, falling 60-27. Can Mohave avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
