 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Carter Owens, who  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 1-for-3.  Dom Stone also deserves some recognition as  he  scored his first  run of the season.
Waverly's record is now 4-0. As for Ludington,  they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 0-3.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Waverly beat the Orioles by a score of  7-0 later that day.
