The St. Albans Bulldogs will face off against the Maret Frogs on Saturday. One thing working in St. Albans' favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last three contests.
St. Albans will bounce into Saturday's game after beating Landon, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Bulldogs took down the Bears 32-14 on Saturday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Bulldogs' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked fourth in District of Columbia, while the Bears are ranked 87th in Maryland).

Brett Paukstis was a one-man wrecking crew as he threw for 279 yards and three TDs while completing 78.3% of his passes. That's the most passing yards he has posted since back in November of 2024. Zahir Cobb made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
St. Albans didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Trey Sheridan, Tyler Smith, and Cobb picked up one apiece. Cobb got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Maret took their matchup on Saturday with ease, bagging a 50-6 win over Sidwell Friends. The contest marked the Frogs' most dominant victory of the season.
St. Albans better keep an eye on Trysten Johnson. He was instrumental in Maret's win, throwing for 255 yards and four touchdowns while completing 91.7% of his passes, and also rushing for 51 yards and one score. Johnson's passing game has become a key predictor of the Frogs' success: the team is 5-1 when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Travis Marcus Jr. was another key player, picking up 84 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.
St. Albans pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.0 points on average over those games. As for Maret, their record is now 6-3.
Saturday's game might be decided on the ground. St. Albans has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 177.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Maret struggles in that department as they've been averaging 173.3 rushing yards. There's a good chance Saturday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
St. Albans won a contest that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, slipping by Maret 35-34. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Frogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
