The King City Mustangs lost against the Monte Vista Christian Mustangs back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. King City took a serious blow against the Mustangs, falling 68-35. While losing is never fun, King City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1347th, while the Mustangs are ranked 625th).
Bryce Brogan was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with three steals for Monte Vista Christian. Brogan is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Jack Ryan, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
King City has not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season. As for Monte Vista Christian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. King City will take on the Trailblazers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Monte Vista Christian, they will be playing at home against the Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
