The Meadows School saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Howard, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Howard is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played.
Meanwhile, Boulder City came tearing into Tuesday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Pioneers get on the board and left with a 19-0 win. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by 13 runs or more this season.
Rhiley Beck made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Beck was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Payton Rogers, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Baylee Cook was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Boulder City kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.6 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 9.2.
Boulder City's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-7. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.6 runs over those games. As for The Meadows School, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.
The Meadows School's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's game. The Mustangs have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.2 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Boulder City, though, as they've been averaging only 0.6 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will The Meadows School continue to outrun the ball?
