Wilber-Clatonia can attribute much of their success to Aiden Zajicek, who went 6-for-9 on his way to 18 points in addition to six assists and six rebounds, and Jameson Conway, who went 7-for-11 en route to 21 points and six boards. Conway is becoming a predictor of Wilber-Clatonia's success: when he posts at least 20 points the team is undefeated (and 9-11 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Cooper Palmer, who posted seven points and nine rebounds.
They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Wilber-Clatonia was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.
Meanwhile, Centennial came up short against Malcolm on Saturday and fell 55-42. The Broncos have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Wilber-Clatonia will need to focus on slowing down Devin Slawnyk, one of several Centennial players who made an impact when they last played. He dropped a double-double with 17 points and 14 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Camden Winkelman, who put up 12 points.
Centennial's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Wilber-Clatonia, they now have a winning record of 12-11.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Wilber-Clatonia has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 21.9 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Centennial struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30.5 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Wilber-Clatonia couldn't quite finish off Centennial in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 and fell 48-46. Thankfully for Wilber-Clatonia, Alex Hirschfeld (who went 8-for-12 to rack up 22 points and six rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
