The Central Valley Academy Thunder had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on South Jefferson with a sharp 61-41 victory on Saturday.
Deacon Judd had a dynamite game for Central Valley Academy, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 11 rebounds. Tom Jacquays was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 5 assists and 5 steals.
Central Valley Academy's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for South Jefferson, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Central Valley Academy will head out on the road to face off against Camden at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for South Jefferson, they will be playing at home against General Brown at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
