Softball Recap: North Port Wins Going Away Against Ida Baker

North Port barely beat Ida Baker the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bobcats blew past the Bulldogs 15-4 on Wednesday. Considering the Bobcats have won six games by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Payson Rumley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched five innings while giving up four earned runs off three hits. Rumley was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Elise Indico, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Allison Timmons was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

North Port kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

North Port now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Ida Baker, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.

As of now, neither North Port nor Ida Baker have any future games scheduled.
