The Cahokia Comanches's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their 11th straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 80-54 walloping at the hands of Lanphier. While losing is never fun, Cahokia can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 483rd, while the Lions are ranked 169th).
Despite the defeat, Cahokia saw an underclassman step up: Corrion Raiford scored 20 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. It was the first time this season that Raiford posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Keontae Morris, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Cahokia's defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-23. As for Lanphier, they now have a winning record of 15-14.
Cahokia will be playing in front of their home fans against the Senators at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lanphier, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Generals at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. MacArthur has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 480 points over their last seven contests.
