The Tri-Valley Bulldogs were the 54-36 winner over the Williams Valley Vikings when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Tri-Valley fell to the Vikings 56-51. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Tri-Valley came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 163rd, while the Vikings are ranked 463rd).
Despite the loss, Tri-Valley still got an impressive performance from Layne Yoder, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Yoder is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Wehry, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Tri-Valley's loss dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Williams Valley, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-9.
Tri-Valley will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Red Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. As for Williams Valley, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st. Shenandoah Valley has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 4.
