Basketball Recap: Buford Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Bryce Bridges and Jake Milhorn

Buford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 52-36 to the Richard Winn Academy Eagles. The Yellow Jackets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 55-51.

Jake Milhorn and Bryce Bridges certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Milhorn posted 16 points and three steals, while Bridges had six points and seven assists. Those three steals gave Milhorn a new career-high.

Leading Richard Winn Academy to victory were Charlie Bonds and Bennett Nicholson. Bonds dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 boards, while Nicholson went 6 of 12 en route to 14 points along with five assists and five steals. Bonds is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down 11 or more in the last 15 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Colin Davis, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 13 points.

Buford's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Richard Winn Academy, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 14-3.

Buford has already played their next contest, a 46-25 victory against Walnut Grove Christian on the 31st. As for Richard Winn Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 45-38 win against King Academy on the 31st.
