The Silver Bluff Bulldogs were the 44-42 winner over the Fox Creek Predators when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Silver Bluff took a 67-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fox Creek. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Friday (57), Silver Bluff still had to take the loss.
Silver Bluff's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaydon Eason, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Those ten rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Gerald Lark jr., who scored five points along with seven rebounds and six blocks.
Even though they lost, Silver Bluff were working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Connor Cannon continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Fox Creek, scoring 24 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Those six assists set a new season-high mark for him. Kaleb Broadwater was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds.
Silver Bluff's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Fox Creek, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Silver Bluff will take on Barnwell at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fox Creek, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Pelion at 7:45 p.m. on January 12th. Hopefully Pelion focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Friday.
