Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Thomas Dale). They blew past the Grassfield Grizzlies 80-50 on Saturday. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Grizzlies are ranked 132nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Thomas Dale got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Myles Tyler out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards. Jahki Lambert was another key player, putting up 18 points and six rebounds.

Thomas Dale smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 15 offensive rebounds in five consecutive matchups.

Thomas Dale's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Grassfield, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Thomas Dale wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 53-51 loss against Meadowbrook on the 17th. As for Grassfield, they will take on Brunswick in a tournament on Thursday.
