John Demartini Delivers Best  Effort of Season
 Novato was led to victory by  John Demartini, who turned in his biggest game of the season  on Thursday. Demartini rushed for 212 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry, and also picked up 55 receiving yards, good enough to  set a new career-high in  rushing yards in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere:  he has now  rushed for 114 or more in the last five games he's  played dating back to last season.
 The  victory (which was Novato's fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1. Demartini and Novato are taking a road trip to  square off against Sonoma Valley  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.

 Piner was led to victory by  Apollo Pereira, who turned in his biggest game of the season  on Friday. Pereira rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown on only six carries, and also picked up 49 receiving yards and a touchdown, good enough to  set a new career-high in  rushing yards in the process. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's  played.
 Piner pushed their record up to 4-2 with the  win, which was their fifth straight  at home dating back to last season. Pereira and Piner will host San Rafael  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.

 Keeping Pereira company is  Jaden Hernandez, a fellow Piner player. He picked up 81 receiving yards and three touchdowns. He didn't just play on offense: he also forced a fumble, made three total tackles (1.0 for loss),  and defended a pass.
