The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Bishop Machebeuf has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Front Range Christian will arrive with five straight wins.
Wednesday just wasn't the day for Bishop Machebeuf's offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Flatirons Academy on Wednesday. Considering the last time the Buffaloes couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.
Bishop Machebeuf saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Menke, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Front Range Christian). They blew past Estes Park 18-3 on Saturday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Falcons with their most commanding win of the season.
The team relied heavily on Landon Deza, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with five RBI, three runs, and one double. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Max Morton was another key player, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double.
Front Range Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.
Front Range Christian's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Bishop Machebeuf, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Bishop Machebeuf has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.4 stolen bases per game.
