For the first time this season, O'Donnell will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will welcome the Borden County Coyotes at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. O'Donnell is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
O'Donnell took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with a 10-5 win over Varsity Opponent.
Lincoln Graham was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Bolton, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
O'Donnell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They are 4-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Borden County was not able to break out of their rough patch last Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 19-8 to Plains.
Borden County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaycob Fry, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Fry is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Braxton Wills was another, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Borden County's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for O'Donnell, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.
Borden County's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: O'Donnell hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .394. It's a different story for Borden County, though, as they've only averaged .240. Will they be able to contain O'Donnell's hitters?
Everything went O'Donnell's way against Borden County when the teams last played back in April of 2025, as O'Donnell made off with a 14-4 win. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Coyotes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
