Mynderse Academy extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Monday, dropping them down to 0-3. They lost 17-3 to the Geneva Panthers. The Blue Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.
Carter Fisher was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
As for Geneva, the victory got them back to even at 1-1. They not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 30, 2025 (when they won 20-3).
On Geneva's side, Alex Dorrington and Dylan Weisner made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Dorrington tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Weisner pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, Dorrington posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. At bat, Dorrington went 1-for-5 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Weisner got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, Geneva got a massive performance out of Anthony Delgago-Nunez, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Angel Lopez Jr, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Mynderse Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 6-2 defeat against Midlakes on the 15th. As for Geneva, they have also already played their next contest, a 12-2 win against Newark on the 15th.
