Boone Grove has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Kouts Mustangs & Fillies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Boone Grove focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Saturday.
Boone Grove suffered their biggest loss since November 28, 2023 on Saturday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 60-40 walloping at the hands of Hebron. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Boone Grove has suffered against Hebron since February 27, 2018.
Despite the loss, Boone Grove had strong showings from Andrew Batesole, who scored ten points, and Jack Stevens, who scored 12 points. Hunter Noonan was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds.
Boone Grove struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Kouts, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 58-40 loss to Hebron on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Kouts can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 357th, while Hebron is ranked 127th).
Boone Grove's record now sits at 7-7. Kouts' record now sits at 4-7.
Boone Grove lost to Kouts on the road by a decisive 79-63 margin when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can Boone Grove avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
