After a string of 13 wins, the Laneville Yellowjackets's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 57-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wells. Laneville was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Wells apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Several Yellowjackets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jamorian Williams, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Williams is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down 11 or more in the last 11 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of De'Marea Lewis, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds and six assists.
Laneville's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-13. As for Wells, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-12 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Laneville will challenge Neches at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wells, they will head out on the road to face off against Kennard at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Kennard is coming into the contest with three straight defeats at home, meaning Wells will have to defend against a team hungry for a win.
