North Central Missouri recap Oct. 3, 2012
Moberly extended the longest winning streak in North Central Missouri this week by beating Marshall, 41-12. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Spartans.
Mexico moved up to 210 from 242 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. A 49-29 win over Warren County helped the Bulldogs improve their standing.
Kesley Callaway and Kesley Callaway gave Boonville a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Callaway threw for 33 yards and one touchdown, while Callaway ran for 159 yards. Teammate Jacob Francis added to the ground attack by rushing for 89 yards.
Gunner Western was the best wideout in the league this week as Kirksville lost to the Pirates. Western racked up six receptions for 59 yards. Kyle Gross helped Kirksville's passing attack out by catching four balls for 57 yards.
Fulton's Joe Schlemeier and Randall Cole have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading North Central Missouri in both passing and receiving yards. Schlemeier has thrown for 625 yards this season, while Cole, a 5-foot-8 receiver, has 25 catches for 385 yards. Boonville's Callaway leads the league in rushing yards with 657.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Hannibal takes on Moberly. The Pirates have allowed 77 points this season, while Jason Ambroson's team has given up 102.
Hannibal took down the Hornets 42-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
