Baseball Recap: Scott County's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Scott County won the last time they faced Woodford County and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Scott County Cardinals won by a run and slipped past the Woodford County Yellowjackets 4-3. The victory was just business as usual for the Cardinals, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

Jack Willhite tossed a big game, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk).

On the hitting side, Sebastian Arden was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Scott County's record now sits at 3-0. As for Woodford County, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Scott County will take on Collins at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Woodford County, they will challenge Boyle County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Woodford County's pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so Boyle County's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
