The Belmont Bison had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 64-56 to Dunbar on Friday. Belmont has not had much luck with Dunbar recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Belmont lost, one person who can't be blamed is Damarion Calahan. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Judah Baldwin, who scored 8 points along with 8 rebounds.
Dunbar's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Eric Brewer jr, who scored 17 points along with 7 rebounds. Baron White was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Belmont's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Dunbar, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Belmont will be playing at home against Northmont at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Dunbar, they will head out on the road to face off against Centennial at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday.
