The Galesburg Christian Lions can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They snuck past Pathway Christian with a 48-44 victory. The victory was just what Galesburg Christian needed coming off of a 65-34 defeat in their prior match.
Pathway Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ryker Miller, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Denver Nelson, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
The win got Galesburg Christian back to even at 6-6. As for Pathway Christian, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 6-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Galesburg Christian will square off against Faith Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Faith Christian is coming into the contest hot, having won their last nine games. As for Pathway Christian, they will head out on the road to challenge Unity Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Unity Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday.
