Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Triton

Triton entered their tilt with E.E. Smith on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Golden Bulls. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won three contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Not much got past Zach Roberson, who gave up just two hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep E.E. Smith off the board. Those 12 strikeouts gave Roberson a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Triton got a massive performance out of Chase Sewell, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. Sewell is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. William Meredith was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

Triton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Triton's record now sits at 6-3. As for E.E. Smith, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Triton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 8-4 loss against Terry Sanford on the 18th. As for E.E. Smith, they have also already played their next game, an 18-2 defeat against Overhills on the 21st.
