The Leuzinger Olympians will venture away from home to challenge the Inglewood Sentinels at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Leuzinger sitting on eight straight victories and Inglewood on ten.
Last Friday, Leuzinger got the win against Lawndale by a conclusive 70-50. The Olympians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.
Malachi Knight and Aiden Mcintyre were among the main playmakers for Leuzinger as the former posted 20 points and the latter put up 18 points. Mcintyre continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Garland, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Inglewood posted their closest win since December 3, 2024 on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 92-90 victory over Los Alamitos.
Inglewood's win came from a few key players Leuzinger will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Parker Jefferson, who dropped a triple-double on 18 points, 12 boards, and ten assists. He has been hot, having posted nine or more rebounds the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jason Crowe Jr, who earned 24 points along with five assists and five boards.
Inglewood was working as a unit and finished the game with 25 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since the start of last season.
Inglewood has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 86.9 points per game. As for Leuzinger, their record now sits at 18-5.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Leuzinger and Inglewood are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Leuzinger hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 64.1 points per game. However, it's not like Inglewood struggles in that department as they've been averaging 86.2 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Leuzinger beat Inglewood 59-51 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Will Leuzinger repeat their success, or does Inglewood have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
