The Jackson-Olin Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Parker on the road and fell 46-19. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Jackson-Olin in their matchups with Parker: they've now lost seven in a row.
Parker got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Teralyn Hill out in front who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Hill is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. Taniya Smith was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds.
Jackson-Olin bumped their record down to 9-8 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 18.0 points per game. As for Parker, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jackson-Olin is on the road again on Friday and play against Minor at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. As for Parker, they will square off against Homewood at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (Homewood is ranked 21st, while Parker is ranked 25th).
