Bloomfield and Miyamura are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The Bloomfield Bobcats will be playing at home against the Miyamura Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Tuesday, Bloomfield faced Gallup in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Bloomfield was beaten by Gallup 61-17. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Bloomfield has scored all season.
Aliya Quintana put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 12 points along with eight rebounds. Quintana is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.
Meanwhile, Miyamura's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 71-28 loss at the hands of Kirtland Central. Miyamura was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-22.
This is the second loss in a row for Bloomfield and nudges their season record down to 12-4. As for Miyamura, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-13.
Bloomfield took their victory against Miyamura in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 48-27. Does Bloomfield have another victory up their sleeve, or will Miyamura turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
