Evergreen Park is a perfect 10-0 against Reavis since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Mustangs will head out to take on the Rams at 4:30 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Evergreen Park has struggled recently with four defeats in a row, while Reavis will arrive with three straight victories.
Monday just wasn't the day for Evergreen Park's offense. They came up short against Richards on Monday, falling 10-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Mustangs were not able to get on the board.
Meanwhile, Reavis made easy work of Bremen on Thursday and carried off a 14-2 win. Considering the Rams have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Juliana Chalupa made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Chalupa was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.
In other batting news, Marissa Lombardo was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jocelyn Martinez, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Reavis was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .382 or higher in three consecutive games.
Reavis pushed their record up to 12-10 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Evergreen Park, they now have a losing record of 9-10.
Everything went Evergreen Park's way against Reavis in their previous matchup two weeks ago, as Evergreen Park made off with a 13-4 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
