Los Padres recap November 13, 2013
Nipomo moved up to 434 from 460 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Los Padres. The Titans were able to move up by defeating Santa Ynez 35-30.
Lompoc added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Cabrillo, 63-14. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
Brock Dickey provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Pirates fell to Nipomo. He completed 19 passes for 259 yards and 1 touchdown and also ran for 84 yards. Dickey's favorite target this week was Austin Vreeland, who caught 6 passes for 88 yards.
Matt Albright threw for 281 yards and 3 touchdowns. He went 19-33 with 1 interception.
Nick Kimball was the best receiver in the league this week as Russell Edwards' team beat Santa Ynez. Kimball racked up 4 receptions for 106 yards. Brandon Hettenhouser helped Nipomo's passing attack out by catching 7 balls for 53 yards.
The Titans' Albright and Hettenhouser have formed a dream team this season, leading Los Padres in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback Albright has thrown for 2,466 yards this season, while Hettenhouser has 58 catches for 642 yards. Tristan Collins from Morro Bay leads the league in rushing with 1,348 yards.
A.J. Florez of the Lompoc is only 14 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 118 carries Florez has put up 986 yards this year.
Andrew Jones' team took down the Conquistadores 63-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
