On Saturday, The Archmere Academy Auks faced the Howard Wildcats in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Archmere Academy walked away with a 13-6 victory over Howard. Winning may never get old, but Archmere Academy sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Leading Archmere Academy to victory were Ryan Hagenberg and Cole Fenice. Hagenberg gained 97 total yards and a touchdown, while Fenice rushed for 155 yards and a touchdown.
Howard's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Robert Kelly, who picked up 112 receiving yards and a touchdown, and Rahsaan Matthews, Jr who threw for 223 yards and a touchdown.
Archmere Academy's victory was their third straight on the road , which pushed their record up to 6-3. As for Howard, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Archmere Academy will take on Odessa at TBD on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Delaware (Odessa is ranked 26th, while Archmere Academy is ranked 13th). As for Howard, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Mount Pleasant at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Mount Pleasant is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
