The Taylor County Bulldogs can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They snuck past Wakulla with a 42-38 victory. The win was just what Taylor County needed coming off of a 79-12 loss in their prior game.
Taylor County found their leader in underclassman Irene Meler, who scored 18 points. That's the first time this season that Meler scored 15 or more points. LeeAsia Johnson was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Taylor County's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-8. As for Wakulla, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Taylor County won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Aucilla Christian at 4:30 p.m. on January 12th. Hopefully Aucilla Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Friday. Wakulla won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Jefferson County at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. Jefferson County's defense has only allowed 28.7 points per game this season, so Wakulla's offense will have their work cut out for Wakulla.
