Friendship Collegiate Academy has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Parkside Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Friendship Collegiate Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Even though King's Christian Academy scored an imposing 60 points on Friday, Friendship Collegiate Academy still came out on top. Friendship Collegiate Academy managed a 66-60 win over King's Christian Academy. Given Friendship Collegiate Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 20th in District of Columbia, while King's Christian Academy is ranked 120th in Maryland), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Parkside scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Thurgood Marshall Academy 86-25 at home. Parkside has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matches by 27 points or more this season.
Parkside can attribute much of their success to Semaj Marshall, who scored 19 points, and Eliajh Butts, who scored 18 points. Kasson James was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Friendship Collegiate Academy's victory bumped their record up to 11-14. As for Parkside, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season.
Friendship Collegiate Academy came up short against Parkside when the teams last played back in January, falling 65-60. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of James, who scored 24 points. Now that Friendship Collegiate Academy knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time?
