Volleyball Recap: Stansbury Starts Season with Win at Home

Stansbury gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Cyprus Pirates with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Stallions haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Stansbury was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-22, 29-27.

Despite the defeat, Cyprus saw an underclassman step up: freshman ?Ilisapesi Tu'ivai had six digs and two aces.

Looking ahead, Stansbury will host West Jordan at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cyprus, they will be taking part in a tournament against Ben Lomond at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
