Shawnee's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trevick Bertke, who went 7-for-10 on his way to 16 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. The game was Bertke's 14th in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Beckett Bertke, who shot 44% from the field en route to 22 points in addition to five assists and five boards.
Sandusky's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.8 points over those games. As for Shawnee, they moved to 24-3 with that loss, which also ended their 15-game winning streak.
Coming up, Sandusky will face off against Garfield Heights on Saturday. Garfield Heights knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 contests -- so hopefully Sandusky likes a good challenge.
