The Dana Hills Dolphins and the Highland Bulldogs will round out the year against one another at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at. Dana Hills has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Even though Laguna Beach scored an imposing 59 points on Thursday, Dana Hills still came out on top. Dana Hills blew past Laguna Beach 84-59. Given Dana Hills' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 51st, while Laguna Beach is ranked 210th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Dana Hills can attribute much of their success to Collin Haugh, who scored 29 points, and Logan Scodeller, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 assists. That makes it five consecutive games in which Haugh has scored at least 25% of Dana Hills' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Torab, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Highland entered their tilt with Palmdale with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Highland took their game on the road on Thursday with ease, bagging a 74-41 victory over Palmdale.
Dana Hills pushed their record up to 10-4 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.6 points per game. As for Highland, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season.
