The Olympic Trojans lost against the Ardrey Kell Knights back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Olympic had to suffer through a rough 64-34 loss at the hands of Ardrey Kell. Olympic has not had much luck with Ardrey Kell recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Chai James and Arianna Shaw certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. James almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds, while Shaw scored nine points along with two steals. James hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for 16 straight games.
Leading Ardrey Kell to victory were Autumn Washington and Karly Glahn. Washington scored 17 points along with four steals, while Glahn scored 15 points along with seven steals. It was the first time this season that Glahn scored 15 or more points. Molly Burns was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds.
Olympic dropped their record down to 10-8 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.8 points per game. As for Ardrey Kell, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-4.
Olympic won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Harding University at 6:00 p.m. on January 31st. As for Ardrey Kell, they will head out on the road to challenge Berry at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Ardrey Kell is facing Berry at the right time seeing as Berry is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
