The Owensboro Red Devils scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. Everything went their way against Hancock County as Owensboro made off with a 72-46 victory. Owensboro has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 25 points or more this season.
Owensboro's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Unique Carter-Swanagan, who scored 15 points along with eight assists and three steals. That's the first time this season that Carter-Swanagan posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Shalyn Sprinkles, who scored 18 points along with four steals.
Owensboro has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for Hancock County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Owensboro will take on Henderson County at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Hancock County, they will be playing at home against Frederick Fraize at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Frederick Fraize has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 9.
