Columbus really took it to Lanett for the full four quarters, racking up a 71-36 win at home. With Columbus ahead 41-18 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Columbus to victory, but perhaps none more so than Oakley Koontz, who scored 11 points along with 9 rebounds and 8 blocks. Koontz hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Savon Kelly, who scored 11 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
Columbus now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Lanett, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Columbus will take on Hardaway at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hardaway has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Lanett, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Opelika at 7:00 p.m.
