The Honeoye Falls-Lima Cougars waltzed into Friday's game with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They snuck past Batavia with a 26-20 victory. The score was all tied up 13-13 at the break, but Honeoye Falls-Lima was the better team in the second half.
Among those leading the charge was Matthew Meacham, who threw for 171 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 passes.
Honeoye Falls-Lima's victory was their fifth straight at home , which pushed their record up to 8-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-7 Dansville/Wayland-Cohocton and 1-7 Dansville/Wayland-Cohocton (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 39.7% over those games). As for Batavia, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.
Honeoye Falls-Lima will head out on the road to face off against Monroe at 8:00 p.m. on November 11th. Monroe is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Batavia does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
