Basketball Recap: Chipley Beats Graceville for Their Second Straight Win

Graceville came into Thursday's match looking for another win against Chipley, but Niyonah Garner wouldn't allow it. The Chipley Tigers walked away with a 51-42 victory over the Graceville Tigers on Thursday thanks in part to Garner, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten boards. Chipley is 15-5 when Garner posts ten or more rebounds, but 1-2 otherwise.

Sarayah Hogan was another key player, putting up 12 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in steals.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zaria Nedd, who went 7 for 15 en route to 15 points in addition to six boards and five assists. Nedd has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Teresa Brown, who posted ten points.

The win made it two in a row for Chipley and bumps their season record up to 16-7. As for Graceville, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 18-4 record.

Chipley will take on Holmes County at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Holmes County will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Chipley surely won't give up without a fight. Graceville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
