Baseball Game Preview: Lawndale Cardinals vs. Beverly Hills Normans

For the second straight game, Lawndale will face off against Beverly Hills. The Cardinals will face off against the Normans at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Lawndale will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Lawndale's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Beverly Hills 10-0. Considering the Cardinals have won ten games by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Issaiah Alvarado made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Seth Alex Rodriguez, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Guru Rivas was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
