Even though the Voyageur Academy Cougar scored an imposing 71 points on Saturday, the Bowman Academy Eagles still came out on top. Bowman Academy took their game against Voyageur Academy 79-71.
Leading Bowman Academy to victory were Jamarie Pollard and Jalen Branham. Pollard scored 22 points along with five rebounds and two steals, while Branham dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Branham has scored all season. Nickolas Black was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 16 rebounds.
The win got Bowman Academy back to even at 8-8. As for Voyageur Academy, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bowman Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Illiana Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th. As for Voyageur Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Detroit Leadership Academy at 7:00 p.m. Detroit Leadership Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 581st, while Voyageur Academy is ranked 204th).
