Grace Christian suffered their biggest defeat since December 4, 2023 on Saturday. They took a serious blow against Wayne, falling 77-46. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Grace Christian has suffered against Wayne since February 9, 2016.
David Wiebe and Jonathen Holderby certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Wiebe scored 19 points, while Holderby scored nine points along with 12 rebounds and five blocks. Holderby is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. Brady Johnston was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.
Wayne's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Isaac Meddings, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Meddings posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Cooper Adkins, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Grace Christian and nudges their season record down to 5-7. As for Wayne, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-8.
Grace Christian will take on Rock Hill at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Rock Hill has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 8. As for Wayne, they will head out on the road to challenge Scott at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Scott focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday.
