The Palmerton Blue Bombers will head out on the road to  take on  the Palisades Pirates at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday. Palmerton is no doubt hoping to put an end to  an eight-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
 Things were looking good for Palmerton after they put the first points on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. Their  rough  11-4 loss to Southern Lehigh  might stick with them for a while.
  Jacob Grammes was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching 2.1 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Grammes has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in four consecutive pitching appearances. Grammes was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run while going 3-for-4.
 Grammes wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Jason Carrelli, who  scored two  runs while going 1-for-3.
 Meanwhile, Palisades suffered a  tough 12-2 defeat at the hands of Bangor  on Thursday. Palisades has not had much luck with Bangor recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
 Palmerton's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Palisades, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.
 Palmerton beat Palisades 13-10  when the teams last played  back in April of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Palmerton since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
