Bluffton hasn't had much luck against Woodlan recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Tigers will head out to challenge the Warriors at 5:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Thursday.
Bluffton will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Monday, then bounced right back against Southern Wells on Tuesday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Raiders with a sharp 12-2 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Tigers' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Madyson Sonnigsen made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Sonnigsen was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Woodlan entered their tilt with Adams Central on Tuesday with 12 consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 13. They blew past the Flying Jets 32-7. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by eight runs or more this season.
Woodlan pushed their record up to 14-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.4 runs over those games. As for Bluffton, their record now sits at 5-8.
Bluffton might still be hurting after the 7-0 loss they got from Woodlan in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
