Pearsall is 9-1 against Pleasanton since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Mavericks will head out to take on the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Pearsall will be strutting in after a win while Pleasanton will be coming in after a loss.
Pearsall took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 13-4 margin over Carrizo Springs. The Mavericks haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Jazzlyn Sanchez was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off 11 hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in February. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jalyssa Vasquez, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Makayla Hernandez, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Pearsall always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carrizo Springs only posted an OBP of .407.
Meanwhile, Pleasanton suffered their closest defeat since February 27th on Tuesday. They fell just short of Somerset by a score of 8-6. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost eight in a row.
Like Pearsall, Pleasanton also got a great game from a two-way player: Scarlet Travis. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and five unearned) runs off nine hits. Travis was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, Araceli Hernandez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Aubree Benavides was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Pearsall's record now sits at 6-14. As for Pleasanton, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-13.
Pleasanton's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Pearsall has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .456. It's a different story for Pleasanton, though, as they've only averaged .296. Will they be able to contain Pearsall's hitters?
Pearsall suffered a grim 11-2 defeat to Pleasanton in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Mavericks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
