Baseball Recap: Silverado Wins Going Away Against Eldorado

Silverado won the last time they faced Eldorado and things went their way on Monday too. The Skyhawks blew past the Firehawks 13-2. Considering the Skyhawks have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Hogan Hawkins made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two triples, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kanoa Wolfgang, who scored three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Marek Piekarski, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Silverado has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Eldorado, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-7.

Silverado will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Firehawks: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
