The Holyoke Purple Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 75-36 loss at the hands of Pittsfield. Holyoke was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-17.
Pittsfield got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Harolyn Castillo out in front who scored 17 points along with eight steals and five rebounds. That's the first time this season that Castillo grabbed two or more steals. Another player making a difference was Madison Stetz, who scored 19 points along with nine rebounds.
Holyoke's defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-1. As for Pittsfield, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Holyoke will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on West Springfield at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Pittsfield will be home for the holidays to greet Hoosac Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
